Another day on the sofa

So it's been the usual weekend of mixed venues with the 'good girls' of Perth and Ayrshire's finest in Irvine and Kilmarnock. Back to another day at the computer today. Some administration, but at least a bit of comedy writing for a guy who wants funny stories for a speech he's giving to a Scottish group. I guess the Scottish history based Fringe shows I have done leads to this type of job.
I read in yesterday’s Sunday Times that the government have just spent £2million on a fleet of armour plated, bullet proof cars which put themselves out if they’re on fire. Gordon Brown will get two. One at Westminster because of the high probability of a terrorist incident in the capital and one in his Kirkcaldy and Cowdenbeath constituency.... because it’s Kirkcaldy and Cowdenbeath. Harbour Arts Centre

A great night at Sidesplitters comedy club in Irvine run by the extremely talented Billy Kirkwood, who compered the night with aplomb. Backstage with Elaine Malcomson and the legend that is Bruce Morton we were aware that it was a sell out crowd, but only when the night started did we realise what a great crowd was waiting for us. Many thanks to those who had seen my touring one man shows at Harbour Arts Centre and brought along friends. I forgive you for going out for a pee in the middle of my set. Hope you found the bike you wanted (If you didn't see the set this means nothing to you.) Also a big thank you to those that came along to the gig at The Palace Theatre in Kilmarnock the night before.

It's not all glamour

After the Good Girls being bad gig a day at the computer emailing and trying to get additional dates organised for the tour of my Edinburgh Fringe show About Robert the Bruce. I got good reviews for the show - see

Nevertheless it's still the less sexy part of comedy phoning and emailing to organised the tour. On the plus side you don't have to leave the house.

The many faces of a comedian

Being a stand up comedian involves many different roles. This is a night where where I was booked to host a night called Good Girls Being Bad in aid of breast cancer research. Yes it is a naked man in the background behind me. There were many of these 'Butlers in the Buff', men for auction and much more in an night with more oestrogen than a midwife in a chicken coop. Given that there were no whales for auction I was probably the safest of the few men in the room. Who knows what the next job will bring. You can hire me on www.brucefummey.co.uk.

Early days at The Stand

Like most new stand up comedians Bruce started
with open mic nights. Here is a grainy picture taken at The Stand comedy club Glasgow in those early days. He's even fatter now!
